Workington Finches were established in 2014 with 5 players, over the years they have grown to a squad of over 30 regular players who have progressed in to the county set-up. This season the ladies saw 5 players called up into the Cumbria county squad.
For the 2017-2018 season, the team under the leadership of new coach Kevin O'Neill have changed from a side regularly getting put 40 points on them and having 2 wins a season to coming second in the league by only losing 2 games and having a positive points difference of over 300 points.
Off the field the friendship of the team is evident in the club house, after training sessions, the ladies will make the time to go into the club house and spend time socialising with each other.

The awards are at Twickenham Stadium on August 29th for an evening’s celebration of the wonderful game of rugby, from grassroots level to professional, the biggest event of its kind in the world.
