An impressive performance by the pack allowed Workington Steelers to eventually take control of the tie following Silloth taking an 8 – 0 lead early in the first half with a try and penalty. Man of the Match Bob Hodgson, with his strong running and uncompromising tackling, took his opportunity well just before the break to make the score 8 – 5 at the interval.
