With the wind in their favour, the Steelers forced the pace and exherted strong pressure on the Eagles line, however Aspatria defended well and repelled the home side. The Steelers forwards continued to dominate and it was only a matter of time before the Aspatria line was breached. From a 10meter scrum the pack drove their opponents over the line for an easy touch down for number 8 Chris Boyd. The Steelers continued to be camped in the Eagles 22 and from a line out the forwards again drove over the Aspatria line with Chris Boyd again getting the touch down. For all their posession the Steelers could only manage a further penalty and went in at half time 13 nil up. The second half continued in the same vein with the home pack dominating affairs, however the Eagles continued to defend well and restricted the home side from adding to their tally in the second half.
