Inexperienced pack make Silloth push all the way for victory.

Steelers lose by an underserved scoreline
A weakened Steelers were finally put to the sword by a bigger more experienced pack on Saturday, when they tackled Silloth who were riding high after some notable recent victories
The Steelers started the game with the smallest and probably youngest pack ever, Silloth started the brightest in the early exchanges, but it was the Steelers centre Stephen Dawes who drew first blood with a long range effort against run of play. The try was setup with some extraordinary scrummaging from the small Steelers pack.
From then on Silloth tried to breakdown the home defence on numerous occasions and eventually were rewarded with a try out wide, making the score 7-5.after the conversion.
Silloth again made good yards and built up some good field position by using the bigger forwards at the breakdown and inevitably scoring again out wide, this time the extras were added making the score 14-5 to Silloth.
Just before the break Chris Stringer scored close to the posts after good pressure from the backline which were causing big problems to the Silloth backs, Stephen Dawes adding the conversion after a couple of penalty misses by different kickers. Halftime saw the Steelers go in behind 14-12 with it all to play for.
The 2nd half saw Silloth grab a quick try and a penalty goal to go into the final 10 minutes of a topsy turvy game leading 22-12, but by the final 10 minutes the small young Steelers were out on their feet and Silloth scored a further 3 tries goaling 2 conversions making the final score 41-15 after a further penalty goal by Mike Fearon rounded the Steelers scoring mid-way through the 2nd half.
Man of the match was 18 year old prop Conner Mckay, special praise has to go out to the full side who were up against it from the off with a relatively inexperienced and small lightweight pack.
