Workington Zebra Finches tasted their second league defeat this season as they went down 29 - 15 away to fellow promotion candidates Trafford MetroVic.
In what was a tough, physical encounter, both sides managed to deliver periods of quality rugby & the Finches gave a good account of themselves by making Trafford work hard for their victory.
Juliet Porter was a consistent scourge of Trafford & she twice cut their backline to ribbons by helpibg herself to a pair of tries, while captain Charlotte Cammack scored her 2nd try in as many games - however none of the three tries were converted.
Once again, Beth Adams delivered a no nonsense, but tigerish performance that often gave Trafford food for thought while Stephanie Radcliffe covered every blade of grass whilst creating space for others & delivering regular surges into the Trafford half.
Workington drop to 4th in North 2 West, four points behind unbeaten Southport & will return to league duty on 28th November when they host Burnley at The Ellis.
